Casino Glossary

The casino terms you'll actually run into — RTP, volatility, wagering and the rest — explained in plain English, with links to where they matter at WildTornado Casino.

RTP (Return to Player)

The percentage of wagered money a game pays back over time. A 96.5% RTP means ~$96.50 returned per $100 staked on average. Higher is better — see our slots.

Volatility (Variance)

How a slot pays out. High volatility = rare but big wins; low volatility = frequent small wins. High-variance games swing hard, so they need a bigger bankroll.

Wagering requirement

How many times you must bet a bonus before winnings can be withdrawn. A 40x requirement on a $50 bonus means $2,000 in bets. Slots usually contribute 100%. See the welcome bonus.

House edge

The casino’s built-in mathematical advantage, the flip side of RTP. Blackjack has one of the lowest (~0.5%); slots and game shows are higher.

No-deposit bonus

A bonus credited without funding your account, usually small and capped. See the no-deposit page for the reality of these offers.

Free spins

Spins on selected slots at no cost, often part of a welcome or reload promo. Winnings normally carry wagering. See free spins.

Welcome bonus

The offer for new players on their first deposit(s), often the biggest headline figure but with the heaviest terms.

Reload bonus

A recurring bonus on later deposits (e.g. weekly), usually with lighter terms than the welcome match.

Cashback

A percentage of your net losses returned over a period — a softer form of bonus with low or no wagering.

KYC (Know Your Customer)

Identity verification the casino runs, typically before your first withdrawal. Normal and a sign the cashier is run properly.

Max cashout

The most you can withdraw from a bonus, regardless of how much you win with it — always check this before opting in.

Tumble / Cascade

A mechanic where winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in for chain wins on a single spin — used by slots like Gates of Olympus.

Multiplier

A value that multiplies a win (e.g. 500x). In free-spin rounds multipliers often stack, which is where huge wins come from.

Scatter

A symbol that pays regardless of position and usually triggers free spins when enough land.

Wild

A symbol that substitutes for others to complete winning combinations.

Progressive jackpot

A prize that grows as players bet across the network until someone wins it.

Live dealer

Games streamed with a real human dealer in real time — blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows. See live casino.

RNG (Random Number Generator)

The certified software that determines outcomes in non-live games, audited by labs like GLI and eCOGRA.

Interac

The Canadian bank-transfer method most local players use for deposits and withdrawals in CAD.
